It's official - Dumfries and Galloway is in the National Geographic Top 25 places to visit in the world - in fact we're the only destination listed in the UK !!

And now... Hello to you all - that news was so exciting that I had to tell you all first. How are you all doing ? Yep - it's finally hear, dark mornings, dark nights and cold and wet, winter is upon us. We survived the two storms that blew and battered us about and we're hoping for a more settled November. It's now time for stocking up on canned food, candles, batteries for torches and any other essentials ... just in case !!

But before we're all plunged into a winter of discontent there is always a cheery face or two here at the Selkirk, a chance to pop in and say hi or come and stay a few nights and enjoy our cosy lounges and good food, relax with a dram in front of the fire.

Dining Specials on this month include our Pizza and Pasta Menu which will run daily throughout November and we have two Steak Nights planned on the 13th and 27th November

Have we introduced you to Historic Hotels of Europe? If not ... we're so sorry, as this is the go to collection of hotels if you're planning a trip away - either in the UK or Europe- just take a look at the collection. We're proud to be a member of Historic Hotels of Europe we're proud to be selected as the only hotel in Scotland.

We've posted a driving tour of all the Wickerman Film locations. The fictional island of Summerisle was created using several real towns, villages and coastal locations, many here in Dumfries and Galloway. If you're a fan of the film you'll love this walking and driving tour.

Golfing breaks 2027 - rates now out and spring and summer bookings being taken

Just a reminder that the hotel will be closed from Monday 16th November for 3 days whilst we transition a new reservations and booking system - fingers crossed that it all goes according to plan and we'll be back open on Thursday 19th November.

And finally - preparations are underway for all our Festive fun in December including 2 Party Nights and our Festive Fayre menu - full details are on the website
